Today we visited Newgrange which is a Neolithic (new stone age) passage grave. It was built 5000 years ago (older than Stonehenge and the pyramids). It is made from quartz and granite which came from a long way away so it is all pretty amazing! The most incredible thing is that on the winter solstice (June 21st) the sun shines through the passage and lights up the grave! Amazing technology! There is also art work, mainly beautiful spirals, on the rocks. A most incredible place!!
